Shopify + Stripe + QBO: Revenue That Finally Ties Out

E-commerce seller · QuickBooks Online, Shopify, Stripe

THE PROBLEM

An e-commerce seller’s QuickBooks Online showed revenue that matched neither Shopify nor the bank. Payouts were being booked as sales, so income was counted twice, and Stripe fees were never separated out, which made true margin invisible.

WHAT I DID

I rebuilt the integration so orders, fees, refunds and payouts each land in the correct account, then corrected the historical entries the old setup had created.

THE OUTCOME

Revenue now reconciles to the penny against both Shopify and the bank, with real margin visible for the first time.
